Voice in the Trenches
“The living cling to breath… the dead whisper back.”
“The living cling to breath… the dead whisper back.”
Voice in the Trenches is a half-hour tale that takes place in 1916 France, amidst the horrors of World War I. The mud-sodden British trenches at Somme are the setting for a tale of resilience and the unbreakable bonds of family. Corporal Will Parker, recovering from a head injury, encounters a haunting presence — the voice of his brother — a brother who isn’t supposed to be there. This unexpected encounter raises questions: is it grief, madness, or the war’s devastating impact on the boundaries between worlds?
