The King and The Young Shepherd is a 10-minute comic yarn — the first in a series “Fractured Fables and Twisted Tales.”
A medieval king, renowned for his honesty, becomes increasingly irritated by the constant accusations of lying among the members of his court. Determined to put an end to the bickering, he bans the word “liar” altogether. To prove that even the king is not above his own law, he vows that should anyone provoke him into uttering the forbidden word, that man will be granted the hand of his only daughter in marriage. Hearing of the king’s proclamation, a clever young shepherd sets out to tell a tale so outrageous that even the truthful king will be unable to resist calling him a liar—
and, in doing so, win the princess for himself.
